Terms of Service

Effective October 11, 2026

The short version

  • You own what you put on your portfolio; we host it and show it the way you ask.
  • Paid plans are billed yearly and renew automatically until you cancel. We remind you by email before every renewal, and you can cancel online anytime in Dashboard → Billing.
  • Full refund if you ask within 14 days of a purchase or renewal.
  • Disputes go to individual arbitration, not class actions (see Disputes and arbitration); you can opt out within 30 days.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MyPortfolios ("MyPortfolios," "we," "us"). They cover your use of myportfolios.site, the portfolio sites we host, and our related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a plan or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use MyPortfolios

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms for you.

You may not use the Service if the law prohibits it, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your account

Keep the information in your account accurate and your password secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, tell us right away at support@myportfolios.site.

An account is for one person. Don't share, sell or transfer it, and don't create extra accounts to get around plan limits.

3. The Service

MyPortfolios lets you import a resume (by uploading a PDF or pasting text), turn it into a portfolio website, edit and design it, and publish it at a myportfolios.site address or, on paid plans, at your own domain.

Automated and AI-generated content

Resume import uses automated tools, including an AI model, to read your resume and fill in the editor, and may generate text such as a short summary. This output can be wrong or incomplete. Review everything before you publish. You are responsible for the content of your site.

No guaranteed outcomes

We are not an employment agency or recruiter. We don't promise that using the Service will lead to interviews, job offers or any other result.

Changes and availability

We work to keep the Service running and improving, so features may change. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors; it may be interrupted for maintenance or by problems with the providers we rely on. If we remove a core feature of a paid plan during a term you have paid for, you may cancel and get a refund for the unused part of that term.

4. Your content

"Your Content" means everything you upload, paste, type or publish on the Service, such as resume text, photos, videos, documents and links. You own Your Content.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, adapt (for example, fit it into a theme, resize images or create video thumbnails) and display Your Content, only as needed to run, secure and improve the Service. That includes sending resume text to our AI provider to read it, and showing your published sites to the public. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups or where the law requires us to keep them.

Published sites are public

Anyone can see a published site, and search engines may index it. Others may copy what they can see. Only publish what you are comfortable making public, and think carefully before publishing details like your phone number or home address. Unpublishing a site takes it offline on our side, but we can't remove copies others have made or search engine caches.

Your promises about Your Content

  • You have the rights needed to use and publish it, including permission from anyone who appears in it or whose personal information it contains.
  • It doesn't break the law or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
  • It doesn't misrepresent your identity, qualifications or experience in a way meant to deceive.

We don't review content before it is published, but we may review, unpublish or remove content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law, or puts others or us at risk.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

  • break any law, or promote illegal activity;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
  • impersonate any person or organization, or build a site about someone else without their permission;
  • publish content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful or sexually explicit, or that exploits or harms minors in any way;
  • host malware, phishing pages, scams, fake job offers, spam or other deceptive content;
  • collect other people's personal information without their consent, or scrape the Service;
  • disrupt or overload the Service, test or get around its security, or get around plan limits or rate limits;
  • reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
  • connect a domain you don't own or control; or
  • resell the Service without our written permission.

We may investigate misuse and cooperate with law enforcement.

6. Plans, billing and automatic renewal

The Free plan costs nothing and includes one site published at a myportfolios.site address. Paid plans (Basic and Pro) add features such as custom domains, as described on our pricing and checkout pages. Prices are in US dollars, are billed once a year in advance, and don't include taxes, which you pay if any apply.

Automatic renewal

Paid plans renew automatically every year until you cancel. When you buy a paid plan, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method the plan's yearly price when you buy it and at the start of each new yearly term. The renewal price is the one shown at checkout (without any discount that only applied to your first year), unless we have told you about a price change as described below. We ask you to agree to these renewal terms at checkout before you are charged.

Renewal reminders

Before each yearly renewal (about a month ahead), we email you the renewal date, the amount and how to cancel.

Price changes

We may change our prices. If the price of your plan changes, we will email you at least 7 days and no more than 30 days before the new price applies to you, with the new price and how to cancel. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

How to cancel

Cancel anytime online: go to Dashboard → Billing and choose Cancel Subscription. You can also email support@myportfolios.site and we will cancel it for you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid year. You keep your plan's features until then and aren't charged again.

Refunds

If you are not happy, email support@myportfolios.site within 14 days of a purchase or renewal charge (including a charge for upgrading) and we will refund that charge in full. After 14 days, charges are not refundable, except as these Terms say otherwise or where the law requires a refund. Refunds go back to the original payment method. When we refund a charge, the paid features it covered may end.

Changing plans

An upgrade takes effect immediately and we charge the prorated difference for the rest of your current year. A downgrade also takes effect immediately; the unused value of the higher plan is credited toward your future charges rather than paid back (unless you are within the refund window). When you move from Pro to Basic, sites above Basic's limit are unpublished. Your plan then renews at the new plan's price.

Failed payments and the end of a paid plan

If a charge fails, Stripe may try it again. If we can't collect payment, your subscription may end. When a paid plan ends for any reason, you have a 14-day grace period to resubscribe. After that, your account moves to the Free plan: one site stays published at its myportfolios.site address, your other sites are unpublished, and custom domains are disconnected. Your saved sites are not deleted.

Promo codes

Promo codes have no cash value, may expire, and can't be combined unless we say so. If a promo code covers your first year, your plan still renews at the price shown at checkout unless you cancel.

Billing problems

If you think we charged you by mistake, please contact us first; we will correct genuine errors promptly. If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may pause the paid features that charge covered while the dispute is open. We never receive or store your full card number; Stripe handles it.

7. Custom domains and site addresses

To connect a custom domain you must own or control it, and keep its registration and DNS settings correct. We don't sell or register domains and aren't responsible for your registrar, your DNS provider, or a domain that expires. If your paid plan ends, custom domains are disconnected after the grace period, and updating your DNS is up to you.

Your myportfolios.site address and vanity URL are provided as part of the Service; they aren't your property. We may refuse or reclaim an address that is misleading, offensive, infringes someone's rights, impersonates someone, or belongs to an account closed under these Terms.

8. Emails and electronic notices

When you create an account, you agree that we may email you about the Service: sign-in and security messages (such as password resets), receipts, renewal reminders, payment problems, changes to your plan, and important changes to the Service or these Terms. These emails are part of the Service, so you can't opt out of them while you have an account; deleting your account stops them.

We don't send marketing emails unless you have agreed to receive them. If we ever do, each one will include an unsubscribe link, and we will honor opt-outs promptly.

You agree that we may give you agreements, notices and other communications electronically (by email or on the Service), and that these satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing. Notices to you are effective when sent to the email address on your account, so keep it up to date.

9. Services from other companies

The Service relies on other companies, including Google (Firebase), Cloudflare, Stripe, OpenAI and Resend, and your site may link to other websites. We aren't responsible for other companies' services or websites, and their own terms and policies apply to them.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, themes, designs and the MyPortfolios name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and its themes to build and publish your portfolio under these Terms. You may not copy our themes or software for use outside the Service.

12. Closing your account

You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and its sites, email support@myportfolios.site from the address on your account. If you have a paid plan, we will cancel it when we delete your account; refunds follow the Refunds section above.

We may suspend or close your account, unpublish your sites or remove content if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, if your use puts other people or us at risk, or if we stop offering the Service. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close a paid account without cause, or stop offering the Service, we will refund the unused part of your prepaid year. If we close it because you broke these Terms, we won't give a refund except where the law requires one.

We may delete Free accounts that have not been used for 24 months, after emailing you at least 30 days in advance.

Sections that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement (including Your content, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, Indemnity, and Disputes and arbitration) continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that AI-generated output will be accurate, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MyPortfolios and its owners, operators and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or job opportunities, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.

These limits apply whatever the legal theory, but they don't limit liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that cannot be excluded.

15. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of the law or someone else's rights, you will defend us and cover the resulting losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees. We will tell you about the claim promptly, and you may control the defense with counsel we reasonably accept.

16. Disputes and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved.

Talk to us first

Before starting a claim, email support@myportfolios.site with your name, account email and a description of the problem and the outcome you want. We will both try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

Binding individual arbitration

If we can't resolve it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except as stated below. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Hearings may take place by video or phone, or on written submissions; any in-person hearing will be in the county where you live unless we both agree otherwise. Fees are paid as the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules provide. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could.

Exceptions

Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead. Either of us may ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions

You and we may bring claims against each other only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of different people. If a court decides this paragraph can't be enforced for a particular claim, that claim must be decided by a court, not in arbitration.

Public injunctive relief

This section doesn't stop you from seeking public injunctive relief where the law allows it. Any such request will be decided by a court after the individual claims are arbitrated, and the court case will be paused until then.

Jury trial

By agreeing to arbitration, you and we each give up the right to a jury trial for claims that are arbitrated.

Opting out

You can opt out of arbitration by emailing support@myportfolios.site within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, account email and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these Terms. If we change this section later, the change won't apply to a dispute we already knew about, and you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days of it.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Claims that aren't arbitrated will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, though you may always use the small claims court where you live. If you are a consumer living outside the United States, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For a material change, we will email you or show a notice on the Service at least 15 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or only covers a new feature, in which case it may take effect sooner. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you don't accept a change, stop using the Service and cancel any paid plan; if a material change hurts you as a paying subscriber, you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of your prepaid year.

19. General terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any terms shown to you at purchase are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. No one else has rights under these Terms. "Including" means "including without limitation."

Notice for California users
